Valentine's Day News!!!

Here it is! The post you've all been waiting for!!! Next Thursday will be our Valentine's Day party, and of course the kiddos are all invited to bring Valentines for their friends (we have 25 students now). I'll do my very best to send home class lists with each student tomorrow, but if you read this before school remind your son or daughter to remind me. They all know that I keep track of way too many details in a day to remember all of them, unfortunately... :) Anyway, the plan I've cooked up is to run a Minute to Win It themed party, but to pull it off I'm going to need parents! Can I get a few volunteers? 7 would be ideal! If you are willing to come in please email me ASAP!!! I will take the first 7 responders! If you aren't able to join us but will still like to contribute, we will also be in need of game supplies and some refreshments. As we did earlier this year, please email me right away to donate to make sure we don't accidentally double up on some items and miss others. Thanks!

Here's our list for the games:

  1. 7 parents
  2. LOTS of candy hearts (haven't shopped for these in awhile, but I'm hoping they come in bags of loose hearts and not just individually packaged...either will work of course...just hoping for the more cost-effective option)
  3. Dixie cups (red or pink would be fun!)
  4. Cookies (25, can be bakery or a bag of Chips Ahoy, etc)
  5. Candy Corn, 1 bag
  6. Valentine's Day party plates (approximately 30)
  7. Pink Crepe paper (we may need as many as 12 rolls for this, so I'll take multiple volunteers)
Students will only actually consume one cookie and the ends of candy corn during our games, but I'd still like to balance with something healthier yet still tasty. Last year I provided chocolate fondue and several parents sent in precut fruit. I would LOVE to serve this again. If you would be willing to send some type of fruit that'd be great! I won't be able to do any cutting, though, so please make sure you can send it ready to eat!

Our list for refreshments: fruit, fruit, and more fruit! (prepped and ready to serve)

Thank you for considering!!!
